Yes, you can play alone. The store supports 1–4 players, so a lobby of one is a normal match, not a hidden mode. A developer reply on the Steam forums says solo can be played offline. There is still no separate “story mode” you unlock by disconnecting. The Early Access roadmap already said there would not be an independent narrative campaign.

Offline versus “story mode”

Spanish-language searches often ask for a modo historia offline. The honest answer is: offline solo exists; a story-only mode does not. You still play the round-based maps. Cutscenes and the 1914 island plot are inside those runs, not a second game. In the linked Steam discussion, a player describes separate launch options and the developer confirms offline solo. The May 2024 publisher patch separately documents an online/offline startup choice on PS5 and Xbox Series. That does not guarantee that cloud saves, achievements or every store’s first-launch authentication work offline.

What changes when you are alone

Solo has no teammate available to revive you or split tasks. That is a practical distinction, not a claim that the game ignores player-count scaling or a measured difficulty comparison. Consider lower difficulty while learning objectives and review the documented self-revive and Miracle systems. The beginner guide and the Miracle builds page are the practical follow-ups. Crossplay and party codes do not apply while you are offline.
