Nightmare Edition is not Nightmare difficulty
Last verified: 2026-10-24
On 24 July 2026 Wales Interactive reset the products. Nightmare Edition is the game plus four cosmetic packs: Draig’s Terror, Stranger Danger, Skerville Slasher, and Sker Ritual x Hazard Levels. Inferno Edition is the game plus the cosmetic packs they described as everything released through that July refresh (15 packs on the PlayStation listing). Neither product is a paid difficulty unlock; Nightmare difficulty belongs to the base game.

The physical Cursed Edition
The 16 October 2026 post announces a PS5 physical re-release for the US and Canada in early December 2026, with a US price of $29.99. It does not establish a Canadian-dollar price. The eight packs named there are Stranger Danger, Devil’s Sacrifice, Sker Ritual x Hazard Levels, Siren’s Song, Draig’s Terror, The Quiet Ones, Invasion of the Brain Eaters, and The Skerville Slasher. There is no Xbox disc in that announcement.
Questions people ask
Does Nightmare Edition include Nightmare mode?
Yes, as part of the base game: Nightmare mode is a difficulty available across editions, not a paid unlock. The Nightmare Edition name refers to its game-and-cosmetics package.
Will upgrading to Inferno wipe my save?
Wales Interactive said it did not expect the edition changes to affect saves, achievements or progress. That is the publisher’s expectation, not an independently tested guarantee; back up saves where possible.
Are the maps inside Inferno only?
No. The six maps are base game or free updates. Inferno is cosmetics.
