Prepare a Nightmare attempt

Learn the complete main quest on a lower difficulty first. The community reference describes higher enemy health and speed, shorter round breaks, a 20% price premium and no Life Token purchase; those numbers are not an official full modifier spreadsheet.

• Choose a map route and agree who handles escorts, timed levers and extra enemies. Do not start a side objective while the squad is resupplying.
• Budget for the higher difficulty price shown by each machine. The Super Charger table has a separate Nightmare column; Normal prices are not a safe run budget.
• Keep required quest weapons and favor actually drafted defensive or recovery cards. Selecting Brigid as a figure is not the same as having Auto Revive.
• Separate base Nightmare clears from the anniversary cross-map hidden objective. THE EGG requires that added objective; buying Nightmare Edition does not complete it.

What the mode changes

Those modifiers are from the community mechanics page, not a published designer spreadsheet. The 24 April 2025 anniversary update added Nightmare hidden objectives across the maps: a demon lamb and Y Cracen route whose reward is the mask called THE EGG. Brigid/Cailleach survival cards are an editorial recommendation, not an automatic revive guarantee. Community guides call Y Cracen the hardest of those fights. Coordinate a squad or draft a verified recovery card; do not plan around buying a Life Token on this difficulty.

The product with the same name

Nightmare Edition, since 24 July 2026, is the game plus four cosmetic packs. Read the editions page before you buy a second copy trying to “unlock Nightmare”. You already have the difficulty.
